Although I like the look of the basket, I was dismayed by the overwhelming chemical smell (I'm guessing it was polyurethane sprayed on the wicker) when I unpacked it. Hours later, it is still overwhelming, so I guess I will have to let it sit for several days to dissipate. I do not want to even put dirty laundry into the basket for fear I won't get the smell out of the clothes. Response from The Basket Lady: The basket are protected with a non toxic water based lacquer finish. We recommend using an odor eliminating product like Fe-breeze to dissipate the smell. The odor will disappear over time. If you have further questions related to this or other products please contact us.

This is a lovely basket. It's beautiful and very sturdy. I'm using right now to hold toys in my daughter's playroom until her shelves arrive - it works great for that purpose. May use it for newspapers and magazines next. It's quite large and practical for lots of uses. I could see it in a large bathroom, full of rolled up bath towels or just full of the ironing or even logs by the fireplace.

I just received my 2 Laundry Baskets today, I LOVE them! They were packed so nice,and they are "so sturdy"! Better than I expected! I looked high & low, and this is my new basket store. I also love the fact that you can take out the cloth inside the basket & wash it, well worth the price, OUTSTANDING QUALITY!

I purchased my large oval laundry basket approximately 5 years ago and after about a year one of the handles broke. I talked to a representative of The Basket Lady and she said they would send a replacement but never did. I neglected to re-contact The Basket Lady to check on the replacement so I never got another one. It's a very nice basket and I still use it, but if I ever purchase another it will be the kind where the handles are inside the basket and not attached to the top.

Response from The Basket Lady: Karen, we do stand by our product 100% and if customers have an issue like this then we will replace the basket. Since it has been 5 yrs it is hard to say what happened to the replacement basket. We are glad to hear you are enjoying it nonetheless.

I have owned both sizes of this basket for several years now and absolutely love them. They are attractive and sturdy. The removeable liner is very convenient. We have a large family, and the kids often help distribute laundry using the baskets. Even with the kids' less than gentle treatment, the baskets still look great and the handles are as strong as the day I purchased them. This is a VERY DURABLE basket of OUTSTANDING QUALITY. Well worth the price I paid! I highly recommend them.

I am delighted with this gorgeous, sturdy basket..I have been collecting baskets all of my adult life..and this is MOST GORGEOUS one I have ever had....I am delighted with the prompt phone call..when i could not get on line to order...and the prompt delivery..and beautiful packaging..THANKS LOVE IT Phoebe
