Family Owned
The Basket Lady, founded in Philadelphia in 1990, is a family-owned home décor company led by mother–daughter team Carol Littman and Kelli Katch. Specializing in high-quality wicker baskets for storage, laundry, organization, and home décor, The Basket Lady has become a trusted source for homeowners, designers, and luxury hospitality spaces seeking durable, artisan-crafted baskets.
Our family’s roots in the home décor industry go back more than seven decades, when Carol’s father first began manufacturing, importing, and distributing ceramics, decorative trays, and woven baskets for the home. Today, we continue that legacy by partnering with skilled artisans who carefully handcraft each basket using traditional weaving techniques and natural materials.
Sustainability
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our baskets are handcrafted using eco-friendly, durable rattan sourced responsibly from Indonesia, ensuring that our materials respect both the environment and the communities we support.
By partnering with skilled artisans, we create products that reduce waste and prioritize longevity, offering timeless pieces designed to be cherished for years. With every basket, we aim to inspire conscious living while preserving the planet for future generations.
Design Philosophy
Our design philosophy blends functionality with timeless beauty. Each basket is thoughtfully crafted to enhance your home’s style while meeting your everyday needs, whether it’s organizing, decorating, or both.
Rooted in the artistry of skilled Indonesian craftsmanship, our designs celebrate natural textures, clean lines, and versatile elegance. We believe in creating products that not only serve a purpose but also bring warmth and character to every room.
